Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 14: Amar Kaushik’s Horror Comedy Set to Cross Rs 500 Crore Mark This Weekend
On its 14th day at the box office, Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik, continues its impressive run, setting new benchmarks almost daily. The horror-comedy sequel, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has maintained its momentum despite two weeks in theaters, with Wednesday being no exception.
Although Wednesday marked the film's lowest single-day earnings since its release on August 15, the numbers were still strong enough to surpass a major milestone—overtaking the lifetime Hindi language collections of the Yash-starrer KGF Chapter 2. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Stree 2 saw a significant dip on Wednesday, netting around Rs 9.25 crore.
With official collections now estimated at Rs 445 crore domestically, Stree 2 has surpassed KGF Chapter 2's record of Rs 435 crore, positioning itself as the 6th highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. On a global scale, the film had already crossed the Rs 600 crore mark by Tuesday. Despite the expected decline in earnings, Stree 2 is poised to enter its third weekend with a significant boost in collections, likely reaching the Rs 500 crore club by Monday.
As Stree 2 enters its third week, it will be eyeing several records, starting with Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (Rs 505 crore), SS Rajamouli’s epic Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 511 crore), and then Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, which stand at Rs 524 crore and Rs 525 crore, respectively.
Stree 2 is expected to surpass all these records by next weekend, especially with no major releases on the horizon to challenge its run. When it achieves this, Stree 2 will likely become the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, setting its sights on chasing the lifetime record of Jawan, which currently stands at an impressive Rs 584 crore.
This year, the only Hindi films expected to challenge Stree 2's remarkable collections are Kartik Aaryan’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn alongside Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor. Both films, however, are slated to clash on Diwali.
