Before becoming a part of Bollywood and entering Salman Khan's inner circle, Shera was a passionate bodybuilder, winning several competitions, including the title of Mr. Mumbai.
Salman Khan, a Bollywood icon, is well-known for his kindness and supportive nature, especially towards his team and the members of his Being Human Foundation. Many people have shared stories over the years about Salman’s generosity and how he has supported them during tough times.
Recently, a photo of Salman Khan’s long-time bodyguard, Shera, went viral on social media. In the picture, Shera, who has been by Salman’s side for over 20 years, is seen posing next to his new luxury car—a Range Rover Sport. According to DNA, the car's price starts at Rs 1.4 crore. Shera captioned the photo with, “With the blessings of the almighty 🙏🏻 we welcome the new member in the house 🚙.”
Born Gurmeet Singh into a Sikh family in Andheri (Manish Nagar), Mumbai, Shera was deeply involved in bodybuilding before his Bollywood career, winning titles such as Mr. Mumbai and securing second place in Mr. Maharashtra.
Shera’s impressive physique eventually led him to a career in security in the early ’90s when Andre Timmins of Wizcraft invited him to provide protection for Bollywood celebrities. Shera first met Salman Khan in 1995 at a party for Hollywood star Keanu Reeves. After a chaotic incident at a show in Chandigarh, where the crowd became uncontrollable, Salman’s brother Sohail Khan sought a more capable bodyguard, leading Shera to join Salman’s team. While Salman is affectionately known as “Bhai” by many, Shera refers to him as “Maalik,” which means master. “Maalik means master, and Salman Maalik is everything to me. I will lay down my life for him. He is my god,” Shera shared with The Indian Express.
